Today is Sunday and it is roughly 4:00pm and the sun is shining in full force. It is currently sitting at 75 degrees and and we are all having a great time just chilling. My day started with sleeping in until 9:30 and it felt awesome. I immediately put my swimsuit on, so you can already tell what kind of day it is. I went up and photographed for someone else as several people from our group cliff jumped into the ocean (we are waiting until closer to the end). We explored a little down a random path and looked at stuff.
We came back to the hotel and then we just relaxed by the pool. After we soaked up some sun and just relaxed while people played some pool games. We went to a grocery store where I got tons of food for a relatively low price. It will be able to feed me for the week (gotta have some lunches). Then we got to the fun part of the day.
After we got back from grocery shopping we decided that we wanted to hike back up the switchback trail (but at a leisurely pace this time). However, there was a second switchback that leads up to a monastery that we never went up before, so we decided that we would go that route. This route proved to be steeper in places, but it also had steps for us. Once we got to the top there was this little monastery (Pictures will be posted later). The trail continued up even further. So, of course we went on. Eventually we came across the goat pen that we ran into the first time up the other switchback, so we then discovered that these switchbacks connect to each other.
We walked all the way to the top of the switchback and I took some pictures of Perissa, which is on the other side of the mountain. Every time I look at the mountain I am stunned. It is less than one mile to Perissa, but that mountain and those switchbacks make it much more than that. Much, much more. I tooks tons of pictures so they will be posted later. We are getting ready to go out before our weekend comes to a close. We may even night swim. Here's to hoping we don't freeze.
