Well I am now in Greece. I have currently been awake for over 48 hours, and will be staying up for more still. We are currently sitting in the Athens airport waiting for our flight to Santorini. We had a long layover today so we were able to check our bags early and then store our carry on luggage. Having done this we then took the 40 min metro to the heart of Athens. We didn't go to the big sites today (we will be spending two days in earnest specifically in Athens on our way home), but we did go around and take some pictures (even though we haven't had a class yet) and we were able to get lost in Athens and ask local residents for help.
It is beautiful here. It was in the mid 80's today with some wind, although I could hardly feel the wind in the middle of the city (which has tons a graffiti, it's really cool, but its one everything, even some churches). Even on a Wednesday there was lots of hustle and bustle among the shops, by locals and tourists alike. Fresh fruit was being sold in an open square and the shopping was structured almost like a giant outdoor mall. We didn't buy anything today, besides some fruit juice so we didn't pass out from dehydration.
