Crazy Climbing and Some Blurry Photos

Today we climbed...and climbed....and climbed. That's right. The infamous switchback was climbed once again today. Today we went up to Ancient Thira and checked the ruins of the city. It was pretty sweet. Walking back down we talked some more about the nature of the island itself. This climb was particularly brutal because we started at 10:15am, so the sun was shining down on us the entire time. We were also fighting some Fargo-strength winds here too.

Afterwards, we were all tired. I personally napped for a decent two hours (go siestas!). Our classes today were a litte wonky, due to the climb, but they still happened. We learned some more Greek phrases, that we even got to use today with some of the locals. They are more than willing to help us with pronunciations and even give us a few other vocabulary words along the way.

We also got tasked with trying to take some pictures with shutter speed and catching some motion of cars. Not easy, let me tell you. There isn't a plethora of traffic here, so it can be difficult to find a good shot that will give more than two streaks of light in it, but we managed to get a couple. We also had to work with some panning techniques and that was not my friend today. I will probably be trying to work with that for a few more days just to get it down. My buddy and I talked about how the key to today's lesson was all about patience, something which neither of us have. But we pulled through and got a few shots. The winds also weren't helping either. Even though my camera was secure on a tripod it was still subject to being pushed a little bit from the wind (major bummer).
