Fighting Colds and Climbing Mountains

Well it is official. I am sick. But that's okay. It means that my body has accepted Santorini as home. A classmate and I were talking about how we usually always get sick after coming back from a trip, but since we are here so long, we really plant our lives here. Having said that I am sick, I am ridiculously sorry that pictures haven't been posted for the past TWO days now. :( I have gone to bed to kick this cold's butt, and I am now pretty much over the sore throat part, now just the wonderful running nose.

But in other new we hiked yesterday. From Fira to Oia. The hike took about 3 hours (lots of ups and downs). Santorini is actually about the size of the Fargo/Moorhead area, accept for the fact that everything is on hills. Makes travel long, but also very enjoyable because you get to see all the sights. The hike was very interesting at time. We had to go down this one part of the trail that consisted of crushed lava rock. There was a railing, but this railing comprised of metal rods, linked by barbed wire, what fun. Thankfully nobody lost their footing.

There was another part of the hike where we were coming upon a hill and we commented on how we felt like we were in The Lord of the Rings, leaving the Shire for the first time (Yeah, were dorks like that). Once we made it to Oia we found a place to eat, we were quite hungry. We just kept it simple and stuffed our faces with pasta. Afterwards I found this sweet spot to capture the sunset in Oia (pictures to come). After Oia we came back to our home and then I grabbed my clothes of the balcony since they were now dry. I then proceeded to crash in my bed after drinking about 3 cups of Orange Juice.

I did attempt to post pictures last night, but since everyone was online it took about 1 hour to upload one photo. So I had to call it quits, because I needed sleep. I have all the pictures I want to post tabbed, so I will just hook up to the internet for a faster connection and then upload them hopefully sometime today.
