What a day today has been! After we came back from the hike we lounged around for a bit (siesta time here) and then went to dinner. Of course we had no idea where we even wanted to go to for dinner so we ended up walking around for about 30 minutes until we found this awesome restaurant called Prince. The food was awesome and I got some Chicken Tagliatelle (I know, not crazy Greek, but tomorrow I'm having lamb). Dinner lasted probably somewhere between 2 to 3 hours. We got to work on some simple Greek phrases (it also helped since our Greek professor was with us, so we were able to really get it right).
After dinner we walked back home along the coast where all the shops were, which were all open after we finished dinner (which was about 10:00 - 10:30). As we were finishing dinner we saw many people actually coming down to start having their dinner. We stopped at some of the shops on the way and then we walked about half of that way along the shoreline. Despite it getting pretty warm during the day it got rather chilly tonight, probably because we felt the drastic change in temperature. It is supposed to rain tomorrow, so who knows that that will bring. We stopped at a little market right next to our hotel so we could get some bread and stuff for breakfast tomorrow (which is more like today now). It is awesome just being able to get a small loaf of wheat bread that is freshly made. We also got some marmalade from our host's mother, so we even have some condiments with it too.
After all of this (as well as the other events of the day) we had to sit down and do some homework, which kind of sucked, but at the same time we recognized that we were here for school. So we got down to learning the Greek alphabet, which hopefully I will have down by tomorrow (spelling and pronunciation). After studying I was able to post some pictures and now I am blogging. I am currently sitting at my fridge, because the outlet by our desk is picky, so I look pretty awesome in our room. Tomorrow we have awesome things in store. We will be going to the volcano, so we don't have to meet until 9:30 tomorrow (we usually meet at 9:00). Later we will be getting a dancing lesson, as well as having a little feast (if those two words can be used together). After all this we have the weekend to ourselves to do whatever. I know a few of us want to return to the switchback trail and make it down the other side, some are planning on going island hopping, and some are just chilling at the hotel.
But now it is 1:42 so I should probably go to bed so that I will be somewhat alive tomorrow morning, but if I'm not perhaps I will just invest in a siesta on the beach if it isn't raining.
