This was a donkey in Fira. There are donkey rides down to the port. This guy was chilling at the top looking extremely sad and tied up to the wall. He seemed to liked me, every time I would pull my hand away from petting his head he would move his head to fit under my hand again.
This is Fira, the city I keep talking about. You can see how it kind of just stops and then there is cliff and then there is ocean. All the pretty white buildings.
This little dog was just chilling in the middle of the a pathway in Imerovigli. It was sweet and didn't pay us any mind.
This was a doorway in Imerovigli. We decided that this doorway reminded us a lot of the "Secret Garden" with all the mystery and whatnot.
Our project for class was to work with some shadows and make them the focus of the picture. Hopefully you can tell that that was what I was doing here.
Here is one of my classmates playing with a dog. This dog was actually guarding a door and I offered it my hand and then it got up and was more than willing to be pet, some guard dog. It was a huge softy and loved that 9 people all wanted to pet it.
So this is a shot that I absolutely love. I was shooting by a building when the light silhouetted the building. This clothesline was right next to it, so I positioned the sun right behind some socks and then it silhouetted these clothes. I loved that the lighting gave it such an awesome tone, since I didn't alter any colors on this photo, just cropped out a little bit on the bottom.
This cat was snoozing by a cactus. What a perfect way to defend yourself when you are asleep. This cactus was also just chilling in the middle of a courtyard, so that was also interesting.
He is some more playing with light stuff. You can see that the lamp is silhouetted.
Here is a sunset. Kind of. The sun was setting, but I caught it when it was sinking into some clouds. But that gives the picture some awesome lines and divisions. It makes you think about how awesome that sunset looks and then you realize that it's just clouds, not even the ground yet.
This is playing with some shadows. I actually took a steak knife and just placed it enough into a loaf of bread and cast light on it to create a shadow. I also opted to have the handle facing the opposite of the usually way one would think. Rather than making the knife look like it was in motion, by having the handle downward, I chose to have the handle up. Your mind makes you want to see that it will cut down, but then you see that if can't do that based on this picture. I like the tension that it creates in my mind when I look at it.
